Every player starts with $10,000 in virtual money. Buying spends cash at the current candle's closing price; selling turns shares back into cash. Your balance carries over from round to round, and signed-in players are ranked by balance on the leaderboard.
At the end of a round the game shows two numbers: your return, and the return from simply buying at the start and holding to the end. Beating that second number is the real test. It is harder than it sounds.
Stock charts use daily open, high, low, close and volume for about 100 US-listed companies from January 2020 onward, adjusted for stock splits. Crypto charts use daily candles from Binance for 13 major coins. Every round starts at a random point in that history, so you cannot memorize the outcome.
Yes. The web game is free and you can play as a guest without an account. Rounds use chips that refill over time, one every 15 minutes, up to 10.
